Japan Film Commission (JFC) is a national film commission covering the entire country of Japan. It is your first contact if you are interested in filming in Japan.
With its main office in Tokyo, Japan Film Commission is a non-profit organization comprised of over 70 regional film commissions as well as various film and video industry guilds and organizations, such as the Directors Guild of Japan. It is supported and endorsed by ministries and agencies of the federal government, such as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and the Japan Tourism Agency.


AFCNet is an organization of Professional Film Commissions in the Asian region that aims to:
- Build a strong network among film commissions and location support organizations
- Share information on film-related procedures; laws, insurance, customs, immigration, etc.
- Problem-solve issue arising from working on location and improve location support system
- Actively promote and attract productions to the region
- Build a professional and film friendly environment in which to work
- Contribute to the overall development of the Asian Film Industry


The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) is the official professional organization for film commissioners who assist film, television and video production throughout the world. It is a non-profit educational association whose members serve as city, county, state, regional, provincial or national film commissioners for their respective governmental jurisdictions.
